Litter Born July 20th!

I am SO excited about this litter! These puppies should have it all, bubbly, outgoing temperaments, the energy and drive for agility, herding, etc., the conformation for the show ring, but most importantly, the loving, velcro dog temperament Aussies are known for. Both Blitz and Carny would gladly spend their days cuddling in my lap.

Please remember that this is a 'STANDARD' litter of AKC registered Aussies, NOT minis! While I hope that they will be on the smaller side, 18 - 20 inches, I can't guarantee it.

We decided to name these pups after punctuation marks. I've always thought Ampersand and Tilde were neat words, and my son Travis thought Underscore would be a cool name (okay, we're weird, get used to it! ;~D). By the way, we did get two mismarks in this litter. While this automatically makes them pet quality, it doesn't prevent them from competing in agility, herding, obedience, or Rally. They can also become therapy or assistance dogs, and, most importantly, they still make great pets, the most important job of all!

Ampersand (&)

This is Ampersand (Sandy), a red merle male. He's got paler spots, like his Aunt Cloudy. More spots will come in later, and the ones he has will darken with time.

Bracket ( [ )

This is Bracket, a blue merle male.

Comma ( , )

This is Comma, so named due to the teardrop shaped thumbprint on top of his head. He also has a tiny spot on his right side.
You can't see it in this picture, but he has a cowlick between his shoulder blades, and two on his back, one on each side of his spine, above his tail. (They look like shadows.)

Elipse (.....)

This is Elipse, so named due to the spot on the back of his head.

Hyphen ( - )

This is Hyphen, the red merle girl.

Tilde (~)

This is Tilde, the blue merle girl. She has a blocky head and a nice, clear coat. She was also born with a natural bob tail (NBT).

Umlaut ( ¨ )

Umlaut (as in ö), is a red tri boy with a full white collar and lots of copper trim.

Underscore ( _ )

My son, Travis, always thought it would be funny to name a dog _, so I'm compromising with 'Underscore', to save on confusion. :~D He also has an NBT. (Underscore, not Travis!)

What do you get with a Bonza puppy? First off, a lot of this:

• Both parents have hips, elbows, and eyes cleared. (Copies of registration certificates and all clearances are provided.)
• Puppies eyes are cleared at 7 weeks of age. (Copy of puppy's eye certificate is provided.)
• A five generation pedigree, as well as a thorough health record and growth chart.
• Current articles on vaccines and vaccine protocols, to be shared with your veterinarian.
• The puppy will be microchipped before leaving.
• We also provide each family with a training DVD, Clicker Puppy, as well as copies of my training handouts which I give to my students. This way puppies can start their 'formal education' the day the go home!
• Puppy families are also invited to join the Bonza Dog Owners Google Group, where they can compare notes with other Bonza dog owners, asking questions, trading stories and photos, and generally having a grand time. ;~D

Puppies are raised in our home until they're 5 - 6 weeks old, and are then moved to our yard, where they have free run of half of the yard. This way they learn to potty along the outskirts of the yard, keeping their play area clean. This makes house training a breeze. They sleep in crates (with the doors removed), on our covered patio, so they're already familiar with crates before going to their new homes.
