11 Puppies, born Jan 28th, 2007!
This is a test litter for Blitz. We don't know what he produces, but Belle has had 3 litters now, by two different sires (one show lines, one working lines) so we have a good idea of what she produces. This way we can tell what comes from her, and what from the sire. Overall, Belle produces a bomb proof, happy go lucky temperament. (Early socialization is a must, of course.) Most of her pups have good focus and love mental stimulation, which means they enjoy training. Most of her pups in both litters are real water dogs as well! We've had some that were more independant, enjoying human company but not desperate for it, and others that are real velcro dogs, wanting to be in your lap if possible.
This litter will be all tris - both red and black. (Both parents are 'red factored', they both had a red parent, so we know they carry the red gene. Belle is dominant for producing reds, so it will be interesting to see how many reds we get!)
This litter *might* be busier, overall, than Cloudy's litter, but who knows? Blitz is an 'in your face' kinda dog, desperate to climb in your lap. When outside he loves to play fetch with a ball or Frisbee. Belle was also very active when younger. So, looking at the parents, I would expect dogs that are very busy until about 3, then mellowing out. HOWEVER, in every litter you get a spectrum of temperaments, ranging from mellow or reserved at one end, to 'nightmare puppy, what did I do to deserve this', at the other end. ;~D So we'll just have to wait and see!

Pups will be 'small standards' , meaning AKC registered Aussies, but on the smaller side, approximately 18-20" tall.

Naturally, parents have hip, elbow, and eye clearances, and the puppies will have their eyes cleared before leaving. Puppies will also be microchipped, and families will be provided with a DVD on how to clicker train (obedience train) the new puppy.
Our puppies are raised in our house with our 5 children, all of our dogs, and our many cats. They're VERY well socialized before they leave! ;~)
We're continuing the British Mystery them for this litter as well. But with 11 puppies to name, *8* of them girls, we've had to cast our net a little wider. We've taken names from other English series that are special to us. Of course, once their new families have chosen names for their families, we'll start calling them by those names.
With 9 black tris, it might seem hard to tell them apart. Don't panic! Pretend you're a marine biologist, identifying humpback whales by their unique tail flukes. :~D Look closely at the shape of the blaze (white stripe between eyes), the shape of the collar on the left and right sides, and how much white and copper is on each leg. (The copper can be hard to see, so look closely.) As they get older, it will be easier to tell them apart.
